Discuss Superman

Very tough question... so which do you like best? Superman theme? Raiders theme? star Wars? Something else?

If I had to pick one, I’d say the Superman theme. It is so epic and elevates the movie to soaring heights. It literally defines the film. Of course, you can say the same thing about many of JW’s themes, but this is tops for me.

Your thoughts?

I love the Jurassic Park theme. The scene where the dinosaurs are first seen combined with that majestic sound is incomparable. So different from how dinos were ever presented before or since in film.🦕🦖

As a Star Wars fan I'd find it hard to not choose either the Binary Sunset (where Luke stands looking into the twin suns at sunset in ANH) or the asteroid field theme from Empire Strikes Back. However, away form Star Wars I'd have to go with Somewhere in My Memory from the Home Alone's. Absolutely beautiful and very Christmasy!

John Williams is the definition of a Movie Score Composer..arguably the best (fight me on it!..lol)

Sooo many themes and soundtracks...TOO many! But if I had to choose one film's, it would HAVE to be E.T.! JW's score is definitive and half the film IMO. Its reuse for the quasi Christmas commercial/sequel just shows how strong it is, even today! Commercial Here in case you were under a rock since Thanksgiving (lol)

How about Elmer Bernstein? Bernard Hermann? John Barry? All very VERY good composers, too. :)

But it’s certainly true that John Williams has been a part of some of the biggest films of the past 50 years.

The most evocative of all elements of SCHINDLER'S LIST is John Williams's score. Yeah, that would be my favorite John Williams score.
