Taylor Swift

Jesus, hell if I know. I don't listen to modern music. If it's not progmetal I listen to dad rock.

Same. Guilty as charged (currently wearing a KISS t-shirt)

Okay, I was poking around tonight and ran across a blog that bemoaned the state of modern music. In short, it's that "get off my lawn" viewpoint that modern pop music sucks. And I agree. One blog called out a singer named Caro Emerald, who seems to specialize in very retro-sounding, yet natural, music. She's got a very classic, brassy voice that would fit the James Bond genre to a tee. Her music would make for a nice callback to the 60's while also providing a more modern sound. Here's an example:

Very talented lady. Be nice to see artists like her hit the mainstream and perhaps pull our collective heads out of Taylor Swift's/Rihanna's/etc. asses.

Tina Turner's GoldenEye Bond song was solid... dramatic and suitable...

I think the late Amy Winehouse would have been awesome...

I think either a big operatic and theatrical number by someone like Paul Williams could work or, alternatively, a complete unknown...

Yes, Amy Winehouse would have definitely fit the bill.
