Discuss Wings

92 years on and the cinematography in Wings remains absolutely stunning. From the thrilling dogfights to Jack's champagne-fuelled hallucination (anyone who has seen this movie will never again hear I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles without thinking of it), there is such an impressive range in the camerawork. The classic silent movies were and remain visual marvels but this one holds a special place for me.

And what a heartthrob Charles 'Buddy' Rogers was. Unlike most of his contemporaries, who have a look very 'of its era', he could step into the 21st century and would be an instant pin-up star.

The camerawork and editing thereof remain an absolute marvel. Even viewed in our current times, it all totally holds up and doesn't in the least tiny bit fail to impress. The aerial and war scenes are stunning, powerful, heart-pumping true cinematography dazzlers!

For sure, Buddy Rogers was very handsome, and in a timeless way.
