Discussão Some Kind of Hero

This movie takes place for a while in a POW camp run by North Vietnamese communist troops. In real life North Vietnam committed mass-murder on landlords in a land reform in the 1950s. Even famed documentary filmmaker Ken Burns showed this of North Vietnam.

The slaughter of the civilian landlords by the North Vietnamese is very different than talking about the often plight of US soldiers in the Vietnam War ( the half theme of this film)!

Repeating!

Hi, benton12. Thanks for the film recommendation. One of my favorite films about the Vietnam War is The Deer Hunter. It deeply explores the psychological effects of the war on these three buddies after they get back to the world, as they used to say. My mother once told me that the Vietnam War was a very mentally disfiguring conflict, due to all the close combat between soldiers. Vietnam vets had an extremely hard time over there as well as when they returned to the U.S., and then on top of all that, they were reviled by war-hating Americans too! They have my utmost sympathy.

Cell, the point I make is not the hardship of vets come home. It is that Ho Chi Minh was a brutal mass-murderer of landlords in peace time in A land reform in North Vietnam in the 1950s. His excessive brutality to the landlords showed how bad his communist regime truly was. Therefore, stopping him from taking South Vietnam and doing the same to it's landlords was a correct aim of the US.The war was wrongly terribly unpopular with so much of the general American public despite Ho's landlord massacre.

I explain on all Vietnam war movies I talk of. It was very much the reason the US went against him. Without the landlord slaughter of Ho's there may never have been any Vietnam War for the US!

Cell, why not combine information. Say to yourself that the poor soldiers who returned home from Vietnam had fought a mass-murderer of landlords named Ho Chi Minh . And look how most Americans wrongly despised those very US soldiers!

Your mom was right, Cell. So was Ken Burns when he wrote of Ho's landlord slaughter in his (Burns') book on 'Nam!

You seem to do a fine enough job of combining the info yourself, Benton. I couldn't help but take the thread into a different direction in my earlier post...you see, I had an uncle who recently died, and he served in Vietnam (no combat, just doing transportation).

Yes. But it is the good health of my readers to in their minds accept the combining of facts about Nam and realize the tremendous importance of Ho Chi Minh's bumping of those landlords as the greatest crime he could commit. The entire state state of communist Vietnam was founded on the immense blood of murdered, innocent mid-20th century landlords.

The Vietnamese themselves admit such a terrible landlord slaughter from Ho happened in the 1950s. I will post a link later where you can see this.

No matter what happened in Vietnam later in the 1950s and 1960s and beyond Ho was already guilty of tremendous acts of civilian mass-murder massacre with his land reform.
