Dunno, but I need to catch up on the 2nd Machete flick.
Thought the 2nd one was way better than the 1st. In the 1st one someone forgot to put the action in. In the 2nd they clearly had plenty of post it notes slapped around the place. Though it is a bit overlong for the type of film it is.
Machete was cool, although I must admit I had never heard of the "Mexploitation" genre before seeing it. Visually, it has lots of grit, which can be very pleasurable. The second film doesn't look that gritty, but then reportedly, much of Machete was filmed when Robert Rodriguez shot the trailer for the Grindhouse double feature. It seemed important for RR and Tarantino to capture that cheap look for those 2 films, as well as for most of it.
Machete Kills is a great title for a film. I must admit when Michelle Rodriguez got her other eye shot out (that's about all I saw of it), it made me feel like crap for her. And I don't like Amber Heard that much as a villain either.

The 2nd one is like a deranged Bond movie from the Moore era. I love it!

You're CelluloidFan again? You had a good username going there.
Yeah, Machete was still good. I liked when he jumped out of the window while swinging on that guys intestines. I pissed myself laughing at that.
He does need to do that again. But y'know... in space.
