An elimination occurs after the seventh week of competition, which features Halloween-themed dances. The contestants are divided up and perform in two team dances: Team Monster Mash and Team Phantom of the Opera.

The six remaining couples are prepping for a special night of dancing, in which they will perform two numbers – a regular couples dance and a special trio dance, in which one past season winner or finalist will be paired with each couple to compete.

The five remaining couples advance to the semi-finals, where they will perform two numbers. The first is a couple’s dance but with a twist, as the pros personally choose the song for the celebrities. Additionally, viewers can participate in an online-only vote for the remaining couples, where, at the end of the night, one of them will be crowned the "Dancing with the Stars" champion, culminating an incredible season, which will be announced live from The Grove.
