The pilot starts after the theme song when Jed struck oil in his Lake. A rural Ozark family relocates to Beverly Hills after oil is discovered on their property worth $25 million. After finding oil on the land, the family is surprised when Mr. Brewster of the OK Oil Company offers to buy it. After much coaxing by Cousin Pearl, Jed sells the swamp and moves the family to a mansion in Beverly Hills. Upon their arrival, they are arrested because of a case of mistaken identity but are later returned to the mansion safely.

The Clampetts begin to settle in their new home in Beverly Hills. They are having to adjust to things such as refrigerators, ovens and the "cement pond" (swimming pool). Jethro also encounters a flamingo that he thinks is a chicken (which causes Jed to suspect Jethro has been sneaking drinks of moonshine). Meanwhile, Miss Hathaway, executive secretary to banker Milburn Drysdale, mistakes the Clampetts for "domestic" help. She thinks Granny is a cook and Elly a maid.

Jane Hathaway finds that making the Clampetts more sophisticated will be harder than expected, while Pearl Bodine tries to get the attention of Mr. Brewster.

Mr. Drysdale panics when Mrs. Drysdale comes back from Boston early, because she'll meet the Clampetts. He sets Miss Hathaway on a plan to get them to go to Palm Springs. Meanwhile, Granny and Jed come to think Mrs. Drysdale is a drunk and make plans to cure her.

Upon Mr. Drysdale's advice to buy good stock, Jed purchases cows, pigs, and chickens to raise. Granny prepares her special mash to help cure Mrs. Drysdale of her drinking problem. Meanwhile, Mrs. Drysdale is convinced she's imagining things, because she sees Granny hovering outside her window and sees a goat and a chicken in her bathroom.

Granny wants to go home because folks are so unfriendly and no one has come to call. Jed convinces her they should call on them, and they find that people welcome them and give them all manner of gifts when they show up on Halloween in their normal hillbilly clothes. Meanwhile, Jed works on getting Pearl to come visit while she's trying to get hitched to the oilman and find a young man for Jethrine.

Elly May starts wearing dresses but takes it as an insult when someone says she looks like a city girl. Mr. Drysdale talks Jed into taking in his butler Ravenswood and upstairs girl Marie in a plan to civilize the Clampetts, but they don't quite understand the idea of servants.

Pearl continues to pursue Mr. Brewster, while a Jasper Depew courts Jethrine. Jed tries to enroll Jethro at an exclusive Beverly Hills elementary school. When the headmistress learns that the Clampetts are neighbors of Mr. Drysdale, who holds the mortgage on the school, she warms up to the idea. There is a bit of a shock when she comes by to pick up Jethro and realizes who will be her new fifth grader.

Misunderstandings abound as the spoiled college student Sonny Drysdale attempts to woo Elly May, only to flee to his mother in the end. In an attempt to smooth things over Granny and Jed invite the Drysdales for Thanksgiving.

Sonny Drysdale decides he needs to be Pygmalion to Elly's Galatea and remake her from a hillbilly into a woman of society. Meanwhile Granny makes love charms for Elly, Miss Jane and Jed.

When Sonny Drysdale promises to give Elly May a ring, Granny thinks he's going to propose and becomes a matchmaker. Cousin Pearl can't stand the idea that Elly May will get married before Jethrine, so she sets to matchmaking Jethrine with Jasper Depew.

The Clampett clan takes great offense when Sonny Drysdale jilts Elly May, and they start a feud with the Drysdales to avenge their kinfolk's honor. When Jed goes to the Commerce Bank to talk to Drysdale, everyone thinks he's a robber and he gets arrested. Mr. Drysdale says he will get Sonny to propose, but Elly says she doesn't want to marry him. Lyle Talbot and Ken Drake appear as a psychiatrists interviewing Jed in jail.

The Clampetts take their first plane flight back home for Christmas to visit cousin Pearl, who is busy cooking up a feast to win Mr. Brewster's unwilling heart. Mr. Brewster insults Pearl when he asks her to be his housekeeper, while she thought it was going to be a proposal.

Back home for Christmas, Elly May bonds with her old animal friends. Pearl plays the piano for the "new" movie in town (the silent version of Ben Hur) to impress Mr. Brewster. While Mr. Brewster tries to sneak out of the movie, Homer Winch declares his love for Pearl.

Mr. Brewster doesn't want to get married, but the whole county knows that Cousin Pearl had her heart set for him. Jed comes up with a plan for her to save face by having Mr. Brewster propose in public and then have her turn him down. Jed didn't count on Mr. Brewster's background in the theater and him making a huge production out of it. Mr. Brewster does such a convincing job that Pearl, after repeatedly saying no, then says yes.

The Clampetts pack up to return to Beverly Hills, so Jethrine tries to pack Jazzbo Depew. Elly says goodbye to her animals. Back in Beverly Hills, Miss Hathaway dresses the vamp to meet Jethro at the airport. Once home the feuding starts between Granny and Pearl over who's running Granny's kitchen.

Granny and Cousin Pearl are at each other's throats over who's going to take care of cooking and the house, so Jed has to find ways to keep them apart. Jed tries to calm things down by taking a sightseeing tour of Beverly Hills.

Mrs. Drysdale leaves for a health farm saying Mr. Drysdale is "going to have a new wife" when she returns. Mr. Drysdale tells Cousin Pearl he'd like her to be his housekeeper. However, the Clampett's think he wants to marry Pearl, so Jed comes up with a plan to "save" the Drysdale's marriage.

Many animals and even the police respond to the unique sounds from Pearl's yodeling lessons.

Two of Pearl's most ardent former suitors come to visit her in Beverly Hills. Pearl thinks they're there to propose because a letter they sent mentions an engagement. But, the duo were actually referring to a concert they have in the Los Angeles area and in fact are already married. Jed throws a wingding for them and the duo play music for the Clampetts.

Granny can't stand Pearl's yodeling so she reports her to the police. When one of the officers takes Pearl outside to the squad car, Granny thinks she got Pearl in trouble and becomes sad and contrite. Meanwhile, the police find Granny's still, and new trouble results.

Granny says Jed and Duke his dog are both down without a woman in their lives. French woman Mlle. Denise and her poodle that she brought to breed with Mrs. Drysdale's dog arrive. Duke takes a fancy to the poodle and Jed takes a fancy to Denise. Meanwhile Mrs. Drysdale has arranged a "marriage" between her dog Claude and Mlle. Denise's, complete with a decorated bedroom.

The conman Harry Jones, who pretends to be an old friend, gives Jed a "bargain" when he offers to sell Griffith Park, the Hollywood Bowl, and the freeway to the millionaire.

When rival banker Bill Hacker challenges him to a skeet shoot, Mr. Drysdale has no choice but to enlist the sharpshooting skills of Jed by making him a bank vice president. But, when Hacker finds out about Drysdale's scheme, he demands that he be allowed to pick a different employee. Hacker sees Granny cleaning Jed's office and, assuming she is the cleaning lady, picks her. The only thing is, Granny is just as good a shot as Jed.

Mrs. Drysdale wants to get rid of the Clampett's before the arrival of Mrs. Smith-Standish, the head of a 'first family' historical society. But Smith-Standish goes to the Clampett's first and becomes enchanted with their antiques and way of life. She also finds evidence that Jed's ancestors came to America prior to the arrival of the Mayflower. She ropes Mrs. Drysdale's into helping with chores done the old way, to Mrs. Drysdale's horror.

Pearl wants the family to be in High Society now that their forebears were one of the first families to come to America.(on the Mayflower) Pearl goes to a ""Beauty Saloon "" & comes home speaking French.! She buys outfits for the family & they reluctantly try them on. (Jethro wears a Tou-Tou !) Jed has the chance to meet the President,all he has to do is confirm that his Great Gran Pappy's name is Ezekiel. He tells them his name was Jeremiah & the First Settlers people say they must have the wrong family. Later Granny says to him that she knows he fibbed,but Jed likes the simple life & things get back to normal.

Miss Hathaway's brilliant-but-frumpy bank protegee Gloria (Lola Albright) is really a sultry gold-digger with eyes for Jed's $34 million, and Jed's just had his annual dose of Granny's spring tonic. Pearl and Granny are a little suspicious of her. Gloria claims that she has to marry a mountain man. Seeing through her scheme, Jed says that's a good idea, but she'll have to wait 3 or 4 years until Jethro is old enough.

An IRS agent gets chased away by Granny. Mr. Drysdale tells him the story of how the Clampetts came to be rich and move to Beverly Hills.

After playing golf with Jethro, Los Angeles Dodgers coach Leo Durocher wants to sign him as a pitcher, when he sees how well he can throw.

Mlle. Denise comes back for the birth of her dog's puppies, and to see Jed. They do some "courtin' and sparkin'" Mrs. Drysdale isn't nearly so happy when she finds the puppies share more in common with Duke the bloodhound than Claude the poodle.

Jed arranges a party to get Granny out of her doldrums and invites the Drysdales. Mr. Drysdale's boss wants to come along to meet them, hearing how sophisticated they are. The boss is thrilled with what he believes to be a "Hillbilly Party" thrown for him.

James and Mabel Johnson back into the Clampett's car outside of the Commerce Bank. After they discover that the Clampetts are rich, they fake injuries and sue the Clampetts. During the trial, the couple's story begins to sound made up. Things really unravel when Mabel learns about James's girlfriend.

Jethro needs a health certificate to graduate from the fifth grade, so he goes to the only doctor the Clampetts know about - Mrs. Drysdale's psychiatrist. The psychiatrist may have bitten off more than he can chew when he starts treating Jethro. Dr. Twombly gets nowhere with Jethro, so Pearl comes and she thinks he is testing her virtue when he tries to lay her on his couch.

Jethro finally gets his bill of health from Dr. Twombly so he can graduate the fifth grade. The psychiatrist shows great interest in Granny's home remedies for various ailments. Drysdale brings him to the Clampetts' just as Granny shows Pearl how to use a love potion, so everyone thinks Twombly's interest in Granny is love.

When Miss Hathaway gets sick and Mr. Drysdale has to speak at a conference, Jed helps out by running the bank and having Elly be his secretary, while Jethro finds a speech that Drysdale accidentally uses instead of his own. All the while a new teller sucks-up to the men and flirts with the women. Jed lends money to a Mr. Wilson, who claims to be a poor chicken rancher. Because of that, Mr. Drysdale is named "Banker of the Year".

Jethro brings home a friend from school, Armstrong Dueser McHugh III, who is coddled by a chauffeur who treats him as frail. The Clampetts know better, and show him a good time, friendship and family.

Jed pretends to be sick so that Granny can get to doctoring and feel more at home. Mr Drysdale and his physician, Dr. Clyburn get pulled into the ploy and Granny's mountain medicine is put to the test by a city doctor.

After Granny cuts off the top of Drysdale and Clyburn's (his doctor) hair for some homegrown remedy, Clyburn tries to keep her from ever doctoring again. Meanwhile, the Clampetts are looking forward to the Possum Day parade, which of course isn't celebrated in Beverly Hills, so Drysdale has to figure out how to have one to keep them happy. Granny also gives the men some of her hair growing potion.

Granny has everyone up at the crack of dawn to plow the front yard for her garden, while Mr. Drysdale, Miss Hathaway, and a stubborn mule try to stop her. Miss Jane takes Granny to a large Supermarket to show her how unnecessary it is to grow her own food.

Mrs. Drysdale recommends Elly for a high-brow finishing school in hopes that humiliating her will drive the Clampetts away; but instead Miss Hathaway convinces the girls at the school that Elly is a fashion trend-setter. Elly invites the filthy rich Fenwicks over, thinking they're destitute.

Cynthia Fenwick makes her filthy rich mother dress in the "Clampett Look" when they visit the Clampetts, since she thinks Elly is a fashion maven. That only reinforces the Clampett's belief that the Fenwicks are poor. Cynthia mistakes Jethro for royalty and Mrs. Fenwick mistakes Mrs. Drysdale for a cleaning woman.

Jethro decides he wants to go a courtin', so Jed gives him a little education. Jethro develops feelings for an exotic dancer named Chickadee Laverne and brings her home to meet the folks. As usual, neither she or the Clampetts know what the other is really saying.

Jethro thinks he's in love with Chickadee Laverne. She and the Clampetts still have a different idea about what an "engagement" is. Meanwhile, Miss Jane tries to woo Jethro away from Chickadee. As marriage seemingly draws nearer, Jethro discovers a deal-breaking secret about Chickadee: she can't cook.

An unemployed actor named J.D. Clampett and his wife benefit from a paperwork mixup at the bank, becoming $36 million richer. The Clampetts believe that Mr. Drysdale has forsaken them and taken the money. When Miss Jane figures out what has happened, Jake Clampett is arrested. Jed wants Jake freed as he might be kinfolk. Jake tries to pass himself off as a long lost cousin. Gil Perkins appears as the pool man.

Newly discovered "cousin" Jake Clampett soon has everyone but Jed thinking about and dressing for a role in a movie Jake wants to make. Mr. Drysdale hears that Jed is going to finance 10 million for the movie. Miss Jane comes up with a plan to put a stop to it all.

Mrs Drysdale wants an authentic Thanksgiving photograph, so she hires Pilgrim costumes, two Indian braves, & a live turkey for the picture. The turkey escapes into the Clampetts place & Elly makes a pet out of it. Granny wants to cook it, Jethro wants to eat it,and Jed just can't bring himself to kill it 'cause it keeps wanting to shake hands.!!

Mrs Drysdale is having a garden party & tells the Clampetts not to attend. They misunderstand & think she wants them to come. When they arrive they are bored so Mrs Drysdale sends them back next door to handle the Overflow crowd. Eventualy the whole party ends up at the Clampetts & they show these Beverley Hills folk how to have a real party.

Mr. Drysdale needs investors for his real estate development project, so he enlists the Widow Fenwick, and aims to cement the deal by hitching her to Jed Clampett, who is looking to find a mother for his daughter, Elly May.

Granny says they have no friends in Beverly Hills. Mrs. Schuyler-Potts expels Jethro from her school for being disruptive. Mrs. Drysdale wants to lock up all of Elly's critters. The Clampetts want to go back to the hills. Mr. Drysdale's efforts to prove to the Clampetts that Beverly Hills is really the place for them to be only makes matters worse.

A television, a boat, and a chimpanzee are among the many gifts Mr. Drysdale gives to the Clampetts for Christmas. Granny thinks the TV is some kind of fancy washing machine. Mr. Drysdale hopes that if the Clampetts enjoy the boat enough, they won't want to go back to the hills.

Granny's television idol, Western actor Quirt Manly, is revealed to be less than expected when he visits the mansion. Even though Granny is disappointed, Elly gets along with Quirt. Jed tries to help Quirt become more of a man's man.

At the mansion, the clan is in need of food, because the hunting in Beverly Hills is horrible. They call a catering company, but get mean-mouthed. At the bank, Drysdale gets a call and learns that he got a kangaroo from a friend and it is at his house. But the kangaroo gets out, and Granny sees it, thinking it is a giant jackrabbit. When she tells Jed, he thinks it is a vision from her jug. She never can seem to catch the creature, and whenever she tells someone, they don't believe her. She finally does, and when Beverly Caterers comes, Granny tells her to cook it, but it escapes from her rope, and runs back to the Drysdale place.

Some old love letters from Jethro lead mountain man Lafe Crick and his daughter Essiebelle to Beverly Hills. Jethro is looking forward to marrying Essiebelle until he sees how much weight she's gained. Essiebelle is not concerned as she loves a boy back in the hills. When Jed finds this out, he makes sure the wedding won't happen.

The freeloader Lafe Crick from back home takes advantage of Jed's charity and schemes to get rich off the Clampetts' wealth. Lafe manages to con Mr. Drysdale into giving him a job at the bank guarding Jed's money. But when he finds out that most of Jed's money isn't actually in the bank, Lafe then believes Jed has his money buried behind the mansion.

Mr. Drysdale would like Elly to run for Queen of Beverly Hills. The Clampetts think the race for the Queen is an actual foot race. So, Granny wants to run as well.

Lafe returns & talks Mr Drysdale into giving him a job as a nightwatchman at the bank to look after Jed's money. When Mr Drysdale tells Lafe that only some of the money is at the bank Lafe thinks the Clampett's have it buried in their backyard. He hurries back & pretends he's building Granny a root cellar, where in fact He's actually looking for their cash.

While Ellie continues to see Fred Penrod, Lafe Crick tries some match making with his son Dub and Ellie.

Granny's fear of boats only temporarily thwarts Mr. Drysdale's plan to take the Clampetts deep sea fishing, until he decides to take them to Marineland instead. Thinking that they're large fishing holes, Granny wants to "catch the whale".

Ellie has Dr. Martin of the zoo come over to treat her dog Duke who is sick. But Granny mistakes a bug repellent salesman Jim Gardner, who ends up falling for Ellie, for the veterinarian. Granny thinks he is no "Critter Doctor" but actually a "Bug Doctor" who is there to sell "bug vittles". Granny is taken with Dr. Martin, after finally meeting him.

Mr. Drysdale and Miss Jane help country musicians Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs try to find a city woman for Jed the same way they found theirs, by holding auditions for backup singers.

Granny gets tired of the weather girl on TV saying that the weather is going to be clear when it is actually going to rain. She has a way to correct this, namely her weather beetle, Cecil. She confronts the head meteorologist of the U.S Weather Bureau but without luck. Jed goes down to speak to him and mentions the name "Daisy," making him think he means Hurricane Daisy, and tells of the plan to get rid of her.

Countess Maria comes to Beverly Hills, making Mrs. Drysdale very excited. But she wants to keep the countess away from the hillbillies. However, it's spring tonic time, and Granny passes it around the neighborhood, including at Countess Maria's house. She falls in love with the brew and visits the Clampetts. They become friends instantly. She starts falling for Jed, and has plans to marry her 6th husband, hoping it is an American.

Jed gets invited to the opening of Drysdale’s new Commerce Bank building. Granny thinks that he will actually be building the bank. Jed attends the party and meets two of Drysdale friends, who think he is a market wizard. When Jed is told he is helping to build the bank, he heads home to get tools and pick up Elly and Granny to help out. When they get there, they cause a bit of a disturbance and misunderstand what is going on.

There is excitement going on at the hillbilly’s mansion when a package from home arrives. They get everything they can’t get in Beverly Hills, including crawdads. Meanwhile, at the bank, Lucas and Pendleton are trying to find out what crawdad is. They overhear Jane on the phone with Jed saying that he will share his stock of crawdad with Drysdale. The Clampetts are trying to figure out how many crawdads they have and learn of how the government put three men on the task of finding moon(shine).

Mr. Drysdale buys the Clampetts a dress store using their money, and the clan decides to check it out. When they arrive at The House of Renee, they are mistaken for poor and Renee tries to help them. She thinks they need jobs. However, the Clampetts think Renee and her models are poor and starving. Renee gives the Clampetts money for food, and they think it is for them to buy food for Renee.

Granny is waking up the family so they can get to their new store: The House of Granny. Jethro wakes up sleepy, not wanting to be up, but as soon as Granny mentions breakfast, he is dressed in a split second. Jed is carving a Y in the kitchen, and when Jethro sees the shavings in the bowl, he thinks it is cereal. Jed tells him to have corn flakes instead. Granny goes to wake up Elly May, saying that her store opens at a decent hour—the crack of dawn!

Having been given a stylish makeover by a famous French couturier, Elly May is mistaken for a visiting foreign princess by Mrs. Drysdale. Hoping to get in good with "royalty," Mrs. Drysdale throws a fancy party for Elly. This time around, the old dear is certain that her soiree won't be invaded by "those dreadful hillbillies."

Jed becomes head of a corporation, which Drysdale organized for him as a tax write-off. The Clampetts decide they want to help out at their corporation, and get the penthouse suite in the bank building. They get all dressed up, Elly in one of her ball gowns, and go to the bank.

After Granny takes a cab home and gets charged for the ride, she decides that it is time for her to learn how to drive. The taxi driver who took Granny home is having trouble collecting the fair, and after a series of events begins to believe that he is in a mental hospital. Granny, during her driving lesson, mistakenly gets on the road.

Jed puts up the cabin for Granny's birthday, which Mrs. Drysdale is not happy about. During the celebrating, a sociology student stops by and sees the Clampetts. She thinks they are Drysdale's servants and works to liberate them from what she believes to be a life of servitude.

Drysdale tries to save the cabin for the Clampetts, but his wife calls a professional home wrecker to tear down the mountain shack. Meanwhile, Ginny Jennings and her sociology professor come back to visit the Clampetts and see that they are still occupying the cabin.

Jethro's running late for his graduation ceremony rehearsal despite his new watch. Mrs. Potts of Jethro's school is afraid that his attendance will jeopardize her chances for a new endowment from philanthropist Theodore Switzer. Mr. Drysdale and Mrs. Potts come up with a plan to have Jethro show up late to the ceremony. Skipper the chimpanzee takes Jethro's place in his sixth grade graduation ceremony, impressing Mr. Switzer.

Drysdale buys a movie studio, Mammoth Pictures, for Jed, and the Clampetts decide to go check out their new property. At first they can’t get in, but they finally succeed. They meet Lawrence Chaplin, the head of Mammoth Pictures, who refers to Jed as a Zucker and a Roach, and Jed admires him for saying it to his face.

Because Mammoth Pictures is losing money, Drysdale decides to tear down the studio and turn it into Clampett City. The Clampetts are excited about getting a town and streets named after them, and when they go to explore their town, they come to a Western set, which they fall in love with.

The Clampetts move into the Western street on their movie studio, but Drysdale tries to stop them. He gets the Clampetts a role in a new picture about Cleopatra and Nero, with Jethro as Caesar, Elly as a martyr who gets thrown to the lions and Granny as Cleopatra. However, Elly makes friends with the lion and Granny gets Nero drunk on elderberry wine.

Mammoth Pictures is in danger of getting torn down, but Hedda Hopper wants to save it. She shows Jed the legacy of the stars of the studio, who stuck their hand prints in cement for the Walk of Fame. Misunderstanding this, Jed works to fill the prints in with wet cement.

Jed gets an honorary doctorate when he donates money to a college, and the family thinks he is now a legit doctor. However, Granny isn’t pleased with hearing that Jed is now a real college doctor because she didn’t go to college. Granny does her best to get a degree herself, but doesn’t find much success.

Mrs. Drysdale is tired of the Clampetts, especially Granny, who keeps scraping with her. When Miss Jane tells her of a beautiful movie starlet who threw herself at Jed and how Jed stopped going to his movie studio when he found out she was married, she plans a scheme herself. Mrs. Drysdale decides to throw herself at Jed to get him and his family to move away from Beverly Hills.

Jethro wants to serve his country as a 007 spy. When he is dissuaded from this, he has to decide what branch of the military to join. Granny gets him to join the Marines because she still wants to catch the whale she saw a year ago.

Rock 'n' roll idol Johnny Poke visits the Clampetts while in town to play the Hollywood Bowl. Granny's not too happy about it; she's worried Jethro will pick up his bad habits. Granny loses her temper and thinks she turned Jethro into a puppy when she says he needs to be taught a lesson.

Granny flies widow Emma Poke out to Beverly Hills to match-make with Jed. She figures she can trick Jed into marriage, though Jed finds out what is going on. However, Jed doesn’t want to marry her, and it turns out that Emma doesn’t want to marry him.

Mrs. Drysdale gets Jed to back the Beverly Hills Ballet Company, and Jed figures that ballet is the perfect way to keep Granny, who is tired of getting “butler sassed,” among other things, in Beverly Hills. Jed gets her interested in the dance just as Mrs. Drysdale gets the money she needs to save the ballet company.

Granny decides to start her own boarding house. The Clampetts put out signs welcoming any incoming boarders and advertising what they offer. When the Drysdale's new butler, Arthur Pinckney, arrives in town he thinks the signs are meant as a welcome for him so he goes to the Clampetts' mansion.

Pinckney, the Drysdale's new butler, finds no success in his attempts at molding the Clampetts into high society people. He runs out, planning to return to England. Meanwhile, the Clampetts, who think Pinckney is their boarder, are mad that he ran out on them. They decide to keep the boarding house open, but change a few things—pay up front.

When the Clampetts learn that Mrs. Drysdale is in the hospital, they decide to visit her to make sure she is doing well. Little do they know, she is there to spite her husband, and won’t leave until the Clampetts have moved away from Beverly Hills. At the hospital, the Clampetts try to make her room more cheerful while she is sleeping, even moving the bed so it faces the window.

Mrs. Drysdale wakes up to find she is no longer in the hospital but in her one hell—the Clampett mansion. After hearing she’s missing, her husband wants to sue the hospital. But when Jed and Jethro visit to return the mattress Mrs. Drysdale was on when they brought her home, the mystery of what happened is solved.

Jethro falls for a movie starlet, Kitty Devine, who is not interested in him. But when she discovers that his uncle owns the studio and could get her better roles than beach babes in surfer movies, she takes interest. While at the mansion, Kitty does her best to get Jed to notice her and tries to convince him she is capable of roles that could make her a star.

Elly gets a job at Jed’s movie studio, though Granny and Jane are against it. Both are worried about Elly getting involved in the Hollywood scene. At the studio, Elly meets actor Dash Riprock. He goes for her straight off, unaware that this is the girl he will be starring with, having been told he’ll be opposite the studio owner’s daughter, Miss Clampett.

Elly is disappointed about losing Dash to Miss Jane, so Jed and Drysdale try to fix everything. And Granny is trying to figure out why Dash is going for the plain Miss Jane instead of her gorgeous granddaughter. Another actor, Biff Steel, is set up for Elly, but, once again, he sees Miss Jane and figures she is Miss Clampett.

Drysdale sets Granny up with an older man on the Board of Directors, a playboy who dates young, attractive women. Mr. Cavanaugh meets Granny and is not pleased with what he sees. And Cavanaugh’s original date for the night, who is described as his "dear, sweet old aunt" is set up with Jed. Of course, this “Aunt Phyllis” is no older woman; she's a young, glamorous girl.

It is the day after Jed spent the night dancing with Phyllis, and he is stiff from all the dancing. Granny is throwing her “I told you sos” at him. And when Phyllis invites him to the horse races, he accepts. When Drysdale and Jane learn of the type of woman she is, they warn Granny and drive her down to the racetrack to stop them. Meanwhile, at the racetrack, Jed and Phyllis are finding great success, because Jed can tell which horse will win.

Inspired by the movie Goldfinger,Jethro wants to be a spy.He tries to spy on Drysdale's rival banker John Cushing and his new secretary.In the meantime,Mr.Drysdale hires Elly May as a secretary-long enough for her to win the Queen of the Banker's Ball beauty contest.Jethro rigged up the truck as a,""spy-car,""and even got a hat made of solid iron.He tried to carry a secret-radio in his shoe-but it kept playing when he stepped on it.He also had an ejector-seat,which Granny made the mistake of getting on.She ended up in the trees.

Jethro is still working on being a 007 spy, though it is annoying Granny. And Elly has been crowned Queen of the Bankers Ball. Mr. Cushing is not happy about this though, as he wanted his contestant to win. Because Jethro is having more fun at Cushing’s bank, he tries to get Jed to transfer his money to the Merchant’s Bank. And Cushing sees this opportunity and tries to get that gorgeous Clampett account.

Granny demands to see her money in cash, and Drysdale tries to talk her out of it. He fails and upsets the Clampetts by accidentally throwing magazines at them, which were really aimed at his wife and her dog. He tries to make things better by showing Granny what a million dollars looks like to turn her off from the idea, but ends up throwing more stuff at her.

The Clampett money keeps rolling in as more oil is discovered on their land. And Mr. Brewster is coming out to marry his fiancée, Edythe. Granny is planning to go back home to the hills, but Jed decides to put up the cabin.

Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs visit the Clampetts and solve the problems they are having at the mansion. They cure Jethro’s hunger by making him biscuits and red-eye gravy, and the duo cures Granny’s homesickness by letting her perform on stage with them.

It is time for spring tonic, and the Countess Maria returns to meet with her good friends the Clampetts, as well as get some tonic. And after the Clampetts learn Maria is single again, having lost her husband at a party, Granny sees this as the time for Jed to make his move on the Countess.

Elly and Jethro join the beatniks at the Parthenon West, and Granny tries to get them out. But her attempts fail, and she becomes a beatnik herself, after inventing "The Tater Digger,” a new dance. Jed is all for the young ones expressing themselves, but once he sees Granny dressed the way she is and acting the way she is, he changes his mind.

Drysdale tries to get the Clampetts interested in a hobby to occupy their time and to stop Jed from traveling around the neighborhood with a fix-it wagon. He shows Jed all types of hobbies, like collecting stamps and building a boat in a bottle. Jethro gets a hobby with these offers—getting the boat out of the bottle!

Leroy Lester, a longtime employee of the Commerce Bank is being forcibly retired to make way for a new computer system. A chance meeting with the Clampetts gives him an idea about dealing with Mr. Drysdale. Leroy goes back to the bank, where Mr. Drysdale's computer has now died. Mr. Drysdale offers Leroy his job back, but Leroy informs Mr. Drysdale that he will be taking an extended vacation and staying with his new friends, the Clampetts.

Luke Short's son Beau comes from back home.Granny wants him to marry Elly May,but Elly wants none of it.At first Miss Hathaway dresses her as a Hollywood siren to scare him-but he quits being scared after Elly gives him a strong kiss.Then she dresses like a dirty scrubwoman to discourage him-but Beau is glad that she can look like she does chores,too.Then Miss Hathaway convinces Beau that he should be a man of the world-and Jethro tries to show Beau how to be a playboy.it turns out that the reason Beau had come to California was to enlist in the army.

The Brewsters come to Beverly Hills to build their new home on a vacant lot they purchased, and they request the Clampetts don't learn of this. But the Clampetts are planning to move back home to the Hills. When they tell Drysdale, he reveals the secret. Drysdale tells Brewster what he has done, but explains it was to save the Clampett oil account, and because of this, he has to visit the Clampetts.

Granny is tired of Beverly Hills and heads home for the Hills. But she never makes it back home and ends up in Las Vegas. And Jethro is having no luck being an international playboy and ends up getting arrested. Granny comes back that night, but with a story to tell about Vegas the next day.

Mrs. Drysdale has a new plan to get rid of the Clampetts and add culture to Beverly Hills. She gets the Clampetts to donate their home as an art gallery. Of course, they misunderstand this and think they have to provide the art. They go on and sculpt and paint up a storm for this new art center and end up filling their mansion with their homemade creations.

Mr Drysdale wants Jed to buy a yacht & join the Yacht club. Jethro sees Mr Drysdale's captains hat & goes out to find a something similar for Jed. He returns with an Admirals uniform.! The clampetts agree to meet Mr Drysdale & Miss Jane at the Dock but get lost & end up at a navy base. They see a Navy vessel & think it's a yacht. When Jed walks up the Gangway in his admirals uniform the sailors think it's a surprise inspection. After a 'test drive' Jed decides to pass on buying the 'boat'.

After entering an oil deal with Jed and O.K. Oil, the Sheik befriends the Clampetts, giving Jed four of his dancing girls for wives and tries to get the beautiful Elly May as one of his wives. Jed tries to give the girls back, while Jethro tries to enjoy some of the Sheik's life, mainly the company of his beautiful dancing girls, after selling his cousin.

Jethro is a 'double nought' spy waiting for a call from 'M' so he can go on an adventure. Mr Drysdale gives him an office in the bank & Elly May is his secretary. After a visit from two other 'agents' Jethro thinks he's on his way. However the two 'agents' know Jethro's office is above the Bank's Vault & want to break in to it until the double nought spy foils their plan.!

Granny and Elly head for the Ozarks to help deliver a friend's baby.
