Discuss Star Trek

There are plans for a permanent moon base and the first American Lunar Colony on the moon.

And from there to Mars and further beyond as finally the human conquest of space can begin.

Excerpt from Future NASA Moon Base Could Be Fueled With Water From Earth's Atmosphere:

NASA plans to send a crew of astronauts to the moon in 2025 armed with the exciting task of building the first-ever lunar science base. It's an ambitious dream that stems from the agency's overarching Artemis mission, of which this year's Artemis I lift-off is the first vital step."_

"Welcome Back! NASA satellite falls to Earth after nearly 40 years in orbit"

Probably in a few more years it's gonna be raining one-thing-or-another. Guessing, while doing all that launching, no country gave much thought to "after space".

The article said that NASA put the odds of someone being hit upon splash down at 1-in-9,400. thinking NOT AT ALL REASSURING!

It's sad that Sally Ride - the first American woman to fly in space - herself could not be present to welcome it back. She passed away on July 23, 2012 at the age of 61. frowning

Rest In Peace, Ms. Ride. Thank you for your service.
