Who Ranks Fifth In The Chain of Command, Enterprise (TOS)

Was looking for fodder for the "6-Words Game" and ran across a discussion re: the chain of command aboard the Enterprise (TOS). I've never given any thought to the fifth spot; but, seems some people have given it plenty...
"Basically, we know Kirk is the captain and Spock the first officer, but how does the chain of command go from there?"
1. Kirk
2. Spock
3. Scotty (surprised he is ahead of Sulu).
4. Sulu
5. Chekov? **or** Uhura?
I can understand why, even with rank, McCoy (I'm a doctor, not a Star Ship Commander. 
) doesn’t make the cut.
Anyway: What say you?
ON ANOTHER NOTE:--Never mind the fifth-in-line, a couple of Contributors had strong opinion about whether there is even “a line” to begin with:
Contributor 1: Said there is no designated person; it’s whoever the captain puts in charge. ( 
That doesn’t work if the Captain’s innards have been fried before he could name someone.)
Contributor (2): Said there is no designated person other than the first officer, and after that it’s whoever the captain puts in charge. ( That could work. No doubt Spock’s innards are a lot tougher than Kirk’s.)

At least in TOS, Chekov is just an Ensign, and Uhura is Lieutenant, so she outranks him.

When Martin Luther King, Jr. met Nichelle Nichols, he told her that Uhurs would have been 4th in the chain of command of the Enterprise. This didn't sound quite right to me. Is this true?

Seems unlikely. Uhura was a lieutenant, as was Sulu, but I expect she had less command and combat experience.

That's kind of what I thought, but as I mentioned before, when I read that in some magazine article a long time ago, it didn't sound quite right.
BTW, did you watch the 4 episode documentary mini-series about UFOS on Showtime that was made last year and if so what did you think about it?

I don't pay for cable channels, can't really afford it. Anyway I'd rather buy telescopes and other stuff.

Actually I have it on my telephone. For $14.99 a month I get Paramount Plus AND Showtime.
