Discuss Three Comrades

Also a waste of some really talented actors. The cast did a good job with the script they were given, especially Sullavan, who received an Oscar nomination; but it just seems overly mawkish much of the time. In addition, casting these quintessentially American folks as Germans in Germany after WWI is not very convincing or interesting. Frank Borzage had much better efforts as a director in other films, such as The Mortal Storm (also with Young and Sullavan).

Yeah. This is one of those type films that, in theory, one would expect to be impressed and whatever extent of significantly interested. Yet it neither impressed nor did anything for me. I think the problem may be that it feels and seems too studio-polished and manufactured or something. Good cast, but somehow this movie just doesn't work.
