Item: The Prestige
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: Genre is locked, but science fiction should be added as a genre. The development of theoretical but impossible technology (by Nikola Tesla) and the moral implications of using that technology is a major plot element of the movie. That makes sense to me, but are you familiar with TMDb's genre guidelines? The goal is to list only the main genres of a film (maximum three). So which one of the four genres--Drama, Mystery, Thriller, and Science Fiction--is less prominent in the film?

I would say the science fiction element is significantly more prominent than any thriller elements. A thriller is, I think definitionally, designed to provide sustained tension and a constant sense of dread. The Prestige doesn't really do that. There's the mystery (of how the two magicians are performing their tricks) but it's not intended to draw suspense from the viewer the way a Hitchcock film does.

Alright. I replaced Thriller with Science Fiction.
