When those tracker guys discover the children in the cabin, why didn't "Mama" just off those guys? She whacked the girl's father, the psychologist dude, and Aunt Jean. Why not those trackers?

It seems Mama has conflicting agendas. At the begining she only kills to protect the girls as the dad was going to shoot them.
Later on she won't let anyone get close to the girls and stop them from coming to her. I guess Mama had to let them go so they would develop love for her and she could take them as the baby she lost.
