Such a masterpiece from start to finish, great soundtrack, unforgettable characters. It's a crime the title of this film got bought out, no one can think of Bad Boys without referring to the cheese-ball cop movie(s) Even many Penn fans haven't seen this, it's a shame Esai didn't get more fame from this. A love these smart gritty dramas, no glorification of violence and tons of sensitivity and raw emotion.

You like him so much you spelled his with name with no caps. I'm sorry (Bad Boy's 83') had a lack of greasy washed up football players, or explosions.

Great film, that deserves more recognition. Have watched it many times, but it's been quite a few years. Need to give it a re-watch.
One of Penn's best films, Esai is just gorgeous, and it's cool to see a young Clancy Brown in his first film.
The acting from everyone was superb and the characters were very multilayered and believable. Definitely a must see!
