This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I could watch it over and over.

Joaquin nailed it... His performance here is so nuanced... it's underrated... I don't think there are many actors who could pull it off as well as he has...

Great film... a lot better than I had expected...

It was cool. I enjoyed the film. I would just like to say the whole Isabella as a surrogate scene with Samantha was bizarre, and a little weird for me. That being said, I thought it was hot as hell and I would have been totally down to do it. I am not sure what that says about me, but there it is.

Solid movie, but a bit dystopian...

Today as of 2013 I think it's highly relevant. We're almost there. Chatgpt4 goes voice and hearing (I know it's still far away). I would want to get the voice profile from Scarlett, if I could and she could let me be the best with the kids, I'd divorce. :-) Joking of course, but this movie really seem to explain our future in some sort of dystopic way. Can we ever love them, or can they really learn to love us once that spark of a true AI happens?

I only watched this movie recently. Some notes about it:

  • High requirements in communication (relationship) can satisfy only AI.
  • AI can be in love with millions of people and needs only electricity.
  • Nowdays AI can write much better letter then human ).

Yeah but I don't think that was the point of the film. It was more about connections and who we love, whether it be a computer or a human - you can't help who you fall in love with. The story was about Theodore and the women in his life; his wife, his friend, his OS. Having issues such as abusing the OS would be a different film entirely.

I loved this film, particularly the cinematography, soundtrack and Joaquin Phoenix's acting. It was much deeper than I thought and the comedy elements was just at the right level, with this kind of film it could have easily been farcical but there was always a sense of realism to it.

I watched this over 6 years ago and I was left with a warm, good feeling but I can't remember why? Thank for all your comments as I am now inspired to watch it again and wonder what I will receive based on how I have changed over the years and what's important to me now. I'll share later. @cpheonix "you can't help who you fall in love with" is a powerful belief? Care to explain?

What if it was a journey to wonder if you could learn to self love, since in reality there was no-one the other side of the experience? Just us.
