Before watching movie I heard soundrack numerous times as something mindblowing, cutting your ears, amazingly rhytmic, sadly can't say I was not disappointed after watching movie. This movie worked mostly only thanks to soundtrack, can't imagine someone else doing score for this movie, pretty sure it would lose few points for me just because of lack of great score.
Can you mention some movie which would be accompanied with similarly stunning soundtrack from recent few years (only movies which come to my mind with strong soundtracks are quite old, maybe Heat, Sunshine, The Fountain, The Dark Knight)? And I am not talking about good soundtracks, but something really stunning which is completely making the scene.

i saw a video on Every Frame A Painting (on youtube and vimeo) where he shows that a lot of movies nowadays sound and feel the same because they're edited to the temp music rather than the emotional requirements of the scene/story!
Therefore even the subsequent "original" compositions end up both sounding similar to one another and the editing removed form the emotional narrative of the film.
I think "Drive" had a soundtrack that worked pretty well... probably not as strong as those that you mentioned, but I think it gave it the right atmosphere. I also liked the parts where there is no music at all, like when they used the lack of music to heighten the stakes in the car chase at the beginning of the film. You feel sucked in, like you're in the car with him.
I liked "Interstellar". I think the music made that film as well. I think I commented about it on it's discussion board.
