I won't spoil unless asked but even though I found this movie hilarious when I first saw it, when I had a chance to look back on it I found that there was a lot of murder and child abuse in this film. It was actually really sad at times. I will admit I definitely cried. After the first movie what I remembered most were the silly jokes but on this one it's the dark emotional stuff that have stuck around in my head. I find myself surprised by that.

Wow i didn't get that at all. My impression of the movie was that some of the acting wasn't great, and that all they did from the first was multiply the jokes by 10 and the explosions by 5... And nothing emotional really struck me at all.
Unless some annoyance and 'eyerolling' can be considered getting emotional. I had the first at around 8.5-9 for the genre, and the second at around 6.5-7...

You are of the same opinion with my husband then. He didn't think it was too emotional either. I am a more sensative person by nature though and Nebulas story and what the Ravegers did to baby Groot really struck a nerve with me. I do agree with you on the rating. i would give this movie a 7/10 too but for entirely different reasons.

I understand where you're getting the feelings from but I can't say I felt the same. Seemed like the movie was trying to give all these characters some backstory and many of those backstories were sad and littered with issues but then it would balance it out with 100 other jokes in the very next scene. I did like the finale with Peter and Yontu, that was very emotional. I'd give this 6.5 out of 10.
I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here-https://youtu.be/4yxQsi5ERi4

It was a great mix of humor, emotion, action and drama.
