Basically, yes.

Ego did pretty much explained that. He just didn't say where they were buried.

Just a suggestion, you don't put spoilers in the title.

The offspring didn't have the celestial gene that gave them the ability to control the planets energy. As Ego stated Peter was one in a billion. Ego had heard about the human who could hold the powerful stone (sorry can't recall the name) and knew it was one of his offspring. Ego killed them in his disappointment.
