Discuss La La Land

What it will Win:

Automatically it can only be awarded thirteen because of two nominations in the same category for best original song. It will definitely win for City of Stars. It is assured it will win best actress, and production design mainly due to the sequences incorporated in the dance numbers, specifically the 'Epilogue," scene. Best Original Score for the music during the Summer Montage, the final number, and Mia and Sebastian's theme. I predict it will also win Cinematography, which I believe is very probable and deserved, film and sound editing and sound mixing, which totals up to 8 oscars.

What it will not Win:

Best director will definitely go to Moonlight, from its usage of color as well as its filming techniques and expert handling of certain scenes, which all felt both real and surreal, physical and metaphysical in both its visual and emotional levels due to Barry Jenkins. Best Original Screenplay will be given to Kenneth Lonergan for Manchester by the Sea, which I think is fair due to it being the music, acting, visuals and direction that elevated La La Land. Costume Design, in its usage in this movie was very well done to reflect the characters and be able to "pop," as was said, but ultimately it will go to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for Colleen Atwood's mastery again, and best actor will be given to Casey Affleck for his breakout performance in Manchester. It will not win, five.

When it comes to Best Picture:

I know for certain that La La Land will win those other eight and lose the five, but I'm split when it comes to best picture. If it wins nine oscars, it will be tied for fifth for movie winning the most of Academy Awards. As well, if it were to win for Best Costume Design and Best Actor on top of this, that will total to 11, tied for first. I feel like there is a 67% chance La La Land will win Best Picture, or else Moonlight.

Final Thoughts:

I feel whoever wins best picture should not win best director, as Moonlight and La La Land are vying for both and there is equal stance between them.

Best Picture and Best Director will go for La La Land.

We're almost there for the Oscars!

It won 6

It could've been seven, if not for the best picture mishap.
