No way no how. Shawshank is a movie that is rewatchable. (TNT airs it just about every weekend it seems) Arrival is a movie you will only rewatch if you are out of Ambien

Everyone agrees Shawshank is an average film? According to what source? A few vocal people on here? Last I checked on rottentomatoes, metacritic and on imdb it's rated rather high.

Arrival is a good movie and I thought better than the other best picture contenders but it never got momentum in the awards season.

Stick me in as one of the people who thinks Shawshank is average.

Who is everyone? Go to any movie rating system out there. Shawshank is in the top 100 of best movies of all time. The TMDB rating has it at 84% which according to my math is way above average. On TMDB, Arrival has a rating of 68%, which according to my public school education is below average. (The Movie rating not my public school education) so please find out who this group of "Everyone" is that you consulted with on this matter.

Anything 70 percent and above is average. Below that is below average

Shawshank is a classic, this movie has its head up its own ass.

I like Arrival and I rated it 8/10 but this is because it falls into many of my favourite genres, not really because it is going to be timeless classic. I doubt I would ever watch it again but I really enjoyed watching if the first time.
