محادثة فاليريان ومدينة الألف كوكب

New sci-fi movie directed by Luc Besson. Estimated budget - 180 million dollars!

Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.

Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

Valerian also stars John Goodman, Ethan Hawke, Clive Owen, Rutger Hauer and Rihanna, and is set to hit theaters on July 21, 2017.

This will be the first movie in a long time--five years?--that I watch in the theatres, all because I know I'll need to see it in 3D if I see it at all. Here's hoping it doesn't flop! It very well could with a budget that big.

is it shot to be 3d or converted?

i'll always give a luc besson movie a shot

Looks visually amazing - sort of Star Wars meets Avatar. If there is a decent plot it should be worth checking out!

Omg not John Goodman again. I'm getting sick of looking at him.

Opening to low US box office. May need a big worldwide haul to save it from box office disappointment.

It's a good thing we didn't actually have to look at him. I was alright with a five-minute voice cameo.

What were they thinking when they decided to open this the same week as Dunkirk? April, May, June, and August would have had a lot of week competition. Especially in August if they would have waited around 2nd or 3rd week. With a rumored 210 million dollar budget this is going to be a massive flop.

I really don't get the way studios choose release dates. August and September are bereft of films, and then they squash all of the big films together in the surrounding months. Suicide Squad did amazingly well at the box office last year, despite have terrible reviews from both audiences and critics, purely because there was nothing else for people to see in the 2 months afer it was released.

It does not seem to be at all European, it's just turned out to be big, dumb and loud with good Americans and evil Brits. Very disappointing or is this an American dubbed version I am watching? Makes sense as no TV Channel here shows any not American.
