DRD, I just thought you'd like to know, that Barbie is still playing at one of my area megaplexes (October 20, 2023)-- and it's a "standard" showing, not even IMAX.
I've very surprised it's still out, and I thought you'd like to know for box-office tracking purposes ("conventional" tickets are still being sold).
Remarkable, isn't it? Thanks for the nudge. Once it eclipsed Mario Bros, I stopped checking on it frequently, but I should update numbers. Will circle back...
I'm in the Upper Midwest of the U.S., if that means anything.
Nice to see this is resonating in the heartland.
I just can't believe that the studios are still pushing a movie that flopped so hard.
That's why I'd laugh! That said, I originally had "Barbie" as a possible dark horse rather than the huge success it was so maybe The Academy might surprise me.

It's flopped its way to a few Oscar nominations now. I'd laugh if it won Best Picture!

Looking at the nominations, it appears that the jury prefers "Oppenheimer (2023)", that is expected to be winning most awards, followed by "Poor Things (2023)".
