So, I finally watched this movie... Sigourney Weaver and Walter Hill being the draw... as well as the crazy premise...
I didn't expect much, but I thought it was ok... I like the way they dealt with the whole reassignment thing, but Rodriguez just wasn't masculine enough to pull of being a man... much more convincing post-op as a woman... it's a shame she's so desexualised in her other movies... would be nice to see her play more human beings rather than cartoons...
Anyway, it was a fun b-movie type movie... I wish it was shot better though... too much talking heads rather than wider compositions...
I loved all of the philosophical and literary ideas that the "good" Dr. was discussing...added something to the movie...

I think the review from one of the posters on this board, was why I watched this film. I am a fan of Sigourney but not a huge fan of Michelle Rodriguez.

I agree. Michelle wasn't convincing as a man. Her performance was weak. She didn't walk like a guy nor was her voice sounding like one. She wasn't even a convincing hitman and didn't hold the gun in a menacing way. They could have written some better action sequences involving her shooting the gun as well rather than just having her walk and then stop to aim at her target.
Ironically, Michelle's other performances as bad as females in Resident Evil and Avatar, were tougher characters than Frank Kitchen.

It was an okay film. Better than most of the crappie films that get released.
The mad doctor's speeches were the most interesting parts of the film. She was kind of like a Hannibal Lecter minus the cannibalism.
