Another movie glorifying suicide - pretty depressing and without philosophical depth. The narrator's voice is sleep inducing, annoyingly slow and monotone. He basically gives the impression of being a wimping, brainless idiot. I cannot comprehend why the investors in this futuristic scenery, would ever waste money on this piece of crappy-brainless-boring-photo-model-idiot. See this movie only for the beautiful visual effects, the hunks and the chicks....

I don't think it glorifies suicide... That's a nihilistic reading of the movie...
While Marc is in a pitiful state for most of the film as a result of his decisions and does resort to suicide as an escape, the movie doesn't present this as a good thing... It is neutral about it...
The will to live and embrace life in the face of the meaninglessness and indifference of the universe is the real choice that Marc failed to recognise in his first life and only realises in retrospect after he has been reanimated... It was that will to live, which gave the last year of his first life so much meaning... Not to mention the love of naomi and his friends, which cuts through the indifference of the world... The sad thing is that Marc doesn't realise that even in his new life there can be something to live for... So he hasn't fully learnt the lesson...
I think the movie was influenced by Camus' The Stranger... Some similar themes...
