What happened to Ray? (SPOILERS)

So at the end Ray jumped out of he window...did he survive? It was vague in that it seemed like he was aiming for the trees, but from the reaction of the people on the street it seemed like he died. Anyone have any thoughts?

i think it was pretty clear he died on impact

Dead... You hear a big thump on impact... It's kinda gross, now that I think about it...

I assumed he didn't jump but fell? It looked like he was trying to get to the balcony on the right of the building.
