Debate Millennium: Lo que no te mata te hace más fuerte

sony did a great job on this one. thriller from start to finish. the scene in the restroom with the glowing masks could have been done a little bit more exciting but nevertheless claire foy brought justice to the character.

LOL

I mean are you judging the movie to how accurate it is to the books?

I thought the action was pretty good from start to finish, however I felt "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was a better story overall.

The action and stunts were good, as was the acting. But overall some moments were extremely convoluted and completely implausible, starting from the beginning when the little girl jumped from the balcony, survived, then made a dash for it in no doubt freezing weather in just a dress.

Another scene was when she helped the American guy escape from the airport; how could she possibly predict all the officers bar one would be left guarding him, that he would then step into a room for her to lock him in, then the American would walk past that exact same bin she planted a phone and weapon?

A solid meh

Completely agreed with you! It´s a complete different beast from the Fincher´s, but it´s a dark, underrated action thriller that moved me and impressed me in more surprising ways than one. And this comes from a viewer that entered into the cinema hating it because Craig and Mara were not returning. This movie made me feel in love with Claire Foy.

I saw this movie the year it came out and didn't remember a thing about it. Decided to rewatch it and it's just a generic tech thriller, and not a good one. The bad guys can not kill this tiny thin 5'3 woman and they have the chance to kill her multiple times but don't. It was like they were going for a James Bond kind of thing and it was all just too by the numbers.

I also think the casting is was poor. Foy doesn't have the strength of Rapace or the vulnerability of Mara. And the guy playing Blomkvist was so forgettable, not screen presence at all. Sylvia Hoeks was appropriately weird though.

I much preferred the Noomi Repace movies, this one I gave 5 1/2 stars.
