Morpheus can take on the new agents as seen in the highway fights. Anyone wonder why he could do that considering in the previous film the crew told Neo not to engage with an agent, seeing how it's too dangerous?

Out of all the complicated plot points and intricate storylines in this movie, I would say that Morpheus's decision to fight the upgraded Agents is the easiest to understand based on the situation and from the previous film.
And that other user knew the answer but why didn't he just explain in his own words rather than quoting someone else's explanation and providing the link to it?

A lot easier to paste a lengthy answer than to type it out using a mobile device. Plus as we learned in school using references increases credibility.

But why didn't you just provide your own explanation? And why did you put some of the words in the sentence in bold as if that mattered?

In my view he was cornered on the truck. He was there to protect the key-maker. This was his finest task at this point in time. They ran but when on top of the truck he was caught. He had but two options:
1: Continue to run 2: Fight and buy time, for Neo to catch up.
He chose number 2. And in my view number 1 was in reality not really an option. The Agent was too close. So he was essentially facing his doom just to buy a little bit of time for the key-maker, but as luck would have it, he prevailed.
