I thought so, just didn't know who was supposed to eat, didn't remember the necklace. But still don't get the premise of the movie, I thought demon can be only in 1 person, so I guess he can be in any number of people? If it were just one person it would make things much easier to follow, so it's more like virus spreading.

The demon comes into the world by being born - physically - as a child. Before its birth it can already possess and manipulate humans and animals by controlling their mind. Anyone close to a possessed can be affected and so it spreads. It all started in a church. You cannot stop the spread by just killing the possessed body, but need to exorcise it with special instruments.
Thanks for detailed information, but was this actually mentioned in movie? Because I paid attention and don't remember this, I remember 7 rules they mentioned in car, but not what you mention.

Yes. Pieces of information are found everywhere as the story unfolds. In the car the grandmother tells Santino about 'los encarnados y las siete reglas' (there is even a song); she remembered six. Meanwhile Jair, the autistic son, was breaking one of the rules by murmuring the name of the demon. Mirtha spoke about the seventh rule at her home and later in the car about witnessing in a church - where she and her husband were practicing as faith healers twelve years ago - what she now realized was the first possession.
