wasn't that for the role so he didn't need to wear that many prosthetics on face?

it's good movie, but didn't find it that great watched actually a bit similar Virgin mountain just day before and I think it was more stunning than this one

He’s balding. The hair looks blurred because he’s using hair fibers to conceal the baldness.

As for the fat suit, it’s to add maybe 200lbs extra for appearance.

I think the last movie I’ve seen from Aronofski was Mother and it was garbage. Everybody is propping Fraser for a comeback. But is this a entertaining movie?

I would not call Aronofsky movies entertaining, mother was shit, this is decent movie bit nothing really great, I'd rather recommend Virgin mountain also about fat man, it was more interesting.

btw your can clearly feel this is adapted from stage play, I thought this and after finishing movie got it confirmed, I don't think it worked really good as movie, the pace (too long), academic unrealistic dialogues, etc

Watched the movie. The “message” is about gay garbage. Gays love too.

I don't think him being gay is significant to story, he could be as well heterosexual and it would make not much difference, it is just excuse for bad relationship with daughter.

If you don't wanna watch it because it's pretentious theater play which should be at least half an hour shorter, then go on, but him being gay should not be reason for not watching (they didn't really push it down the throat, there are no flashback showing gay kissing or something) and I write it as someone who pretty much ignore nowadays movies with main gay character (if I knew I would not bother to watch this).

The trailer just shows him having a daughter and a Vietnamese nurse. Nothing about him being gay. So I had no idea.

I was almost going to watch this but now I think I'll hold off. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't have anything against LGBT characters per se. But this movie looks like it might be bad and their hiding such a key aspect of his personality from potential viewers doesn't seem like a good sign.

LGBT characters shouldn't be shoehorned into every single movie or show. It should be OK to make movies in America where all of the main characters are straight and white and Christian. This is still the majority demographic.

Ah yes, a movie that is so bad it has 118 nominations (3 Oscars, 4 BAFTAS, 2 SAG's, among others) with 36 wins so far & plenty of good reviews. But you go ahead & trash it because a character happens to be gay, which isn't even the MAIN focus of the film.

No gayness pushed? The movie literally starts with him masturbating to gay porn.

Then the rest is showing how sad he is for losing his gay lover; one of his students.

it's not really relevant he could be as well be getting to hetero porn and lose hetero partner plus they don't really show the porn, heck they don't even show one kiss between them AFAIR, not a single gay scene, just guy losing partner where gender of partner ain't really important
