Discuss Kristen Stewart

The Hollywood Critics Association just named Kristen best actress of the decade. Why not best actress of the century so far then? Really? Okay if you say so HCA.

What do you think and if not Kristen who would you give this kind of silly award to?

That reminds me of the time Miley Cyrus was voted hottest woman of the year by Maxim, which is equally ludicrous because she's straight-up trash.

I have to ask in this case, how The Hollywood Critics Association makes money. Certainly it's more probable that Stewart's camp paid for this "award" because what possibly motivation could they have had to bequeath this honor upon her? She's obviously nowhere near "best" in the field of acting anywhere outside the community theater circuit, and certainly Scarlett Johansson, Margo Robbie, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Stone, or Jennifer Lawrence would be more worthy of that particular award from amongst those in the "hot young thing" category.

Awards in general in the "Hollywood" arena, are primarily marketing devices. Actors spend the year lobbying fellow AMPAS members to vote for them, while studios and talent agencies similarly lobby and coax votes out of members in aid of an up and coming actor they signed to a multi picture deal, or a current hot actor.

It's a little known fact that The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce offers celebrities a chance to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, that the celebrities themselves pay for, as a means of generating revenue. It's really not some amazing lifetime achievement as much as it's a money maker for the chamber of commerce. Also, technical Oscars are sold to companies, not just awarded based only on achievement. AMPAS literally calls up companies and asks them if they want an Oscar.

Well, Adam Driver (Ben Solo a.k.a. Kylo Ren) was named Best Actor of the Decade.

So, HCA has chosen a vampire and a Jedi.
