Quite true. He never once attended the ceremony when nominated, and refused a knighthood, so I don' t believe honours and prizes were ever his goal.

his body of work is staggeringly good. I mean he did everything from Horror - action - sci-fi - comedy - musical . And the quality is amazing:

Skyfall Big Fish Bourne Ultimatum Erin Brockovich Before the Devil Knows You're Dead Annie Murder on the Orient Express The Duelist Under the Volcano Wolfen Tom Jones! Looker The Dresser Shoot the Moon Scrooge! Miller's Crossing

and those are just the great ones! Amazing career.

Right, that is very sad.

Albert - one great actor, nice personality, fine looking, outstanding talents, but nothing pretentious about that one.
