Sgt Matt Boyden of The Bill and an unidentified black man are both murdered in a drive-by shooting. The gunman makes a speedy getaway leaving the police with no idea which man was the intended target. Matt's copper colleagues look on, devastated, as M.I.T comb the crime scene.
