Cassie's father turns up at the Cook household and berates Howard for ""abandoning"" his daughter until Uncle Fraser takes charge of the situation and escorts him off the premises.

Strained relations between Mel and Howard take a turn for the worse when the wedding program arrives with an embarrassing print error...if only Howard had proof read them correctly!

Mel decides to get drunk and begins reminiscing about past relationships, which leads her to get in touch with an old flame. Meanwhile Howard's evening is one long disaster beginning in the pub and ending in the river Thames.
