Ciel comes to accept his death, after Sebastian refuses to revive. Soon, another guest is found dead and everyone reassesses their alibis. It is discovered that Sebastian had entrusted Mey-Rin with a letter to be sent by an owl in the morning. The mysterious reverend Jeremy Rathborne then suddenly appears.

Sebastian had "foreseen" his murder and the letter he had sent was addressed to reverend Jeremy Rathborne, calling him to investigate. Soon, it is found out that one of the murders was mistakenly done by a snake that was trained to go after Ciel's scent, later revealed to be sent by Snake from Noah's Arc Circus in an attempt to avenge his friends. Ciel and Sebastian simply made use of this occasion, knowing Siemens would be killed either way, and framed Woodley, who deserved to go to prison. For that, Sebastian managed to orchestrate the entire ordeal - do the Queen's secret task, clear the Phantomhive name of any possible murder accusations, and send a guilty businessman to jail. This experience influences Arthur Conan Doyle and he sets off to his career. At the end, Ciel invites Snake to live in the Phantomhive manor as well. Sebastian is made the Phantomhive main butler yet again and he swears his loyalty to Ciel until the day lies become truth.

Ciel boarded the luxury passenger ship Campania, accompanied by his servants Sebastian and Snake. Tagging along with the Midford family, Earl Phantomhive was there to investigate a sinister case of illegal human experimentation, however. A shady doctor appeared to be the mastermind, as he demonstrated to the Aurora Society how he had been bringing the deceased back to life. The reanimated dead were not quite human however, as what was left of the people on board were about to find out.

Ciel builds his reputation within the school in order to get close to the P4. His success grants him the opportunity to participate in an exclusive gathering reserved only for prefects and their drudges. However, this meeting doesn't go as expected.

Ciel decides to pay back Maurice Cole for his underhanded trick. Since Maurice lives in a different boarding house, he arranges a special exemption for an acquaintance to be admitted to Weston so that he can monitor Maurice.

Ciel wins the P4's trust, but he still can't find a chance to get close to the Head Master. And so he brings up the subject of Derrick Arden with the P4 and their drudges. When he does, the expressions on the prefects' faces change...

Ciel hears some promising information: the ever-busy Head Master will be attending Weston's traditional cricket tournament, and evidently the student who exhibits the most sportsmanlike behaviour will be invited to the Head Master's "midnight tea party."

Ciel is chosen to play cricket, but the boys of Sapphire Owl House are the perennial wooden spooners. They've had just one victory in the history of the tournament. Ciel resolves to wrest another victory for his House—without any miracles.

Ciel and the rest of Sapphire Owl House have won their way into the deciding match. As the cricketers exercise their talents to the fullest, Sebastian pursues the Head Master, who has appeared at last.

At the boat parade that caps off the cricket tournament, Ciel vows once again to learn the truth and present it to Queen Victoria.
