Even when the show straight out gives the viewers answers, you still want to dispute it.

I agree with what you said, but I found that whole decision ultimately unsatisfying and perhaps unnecessary. The only reason I can see that they even took that detour was to let us know that it wasn't just Westworld that was burning, but all the worlds together. Because other than that, it's useless IMO.
