André Castagnier est inventeur de prototypes de bateaux sur un chantier naval dirigé d’une poigne de fer par Philippe Fourchaume. Ce dernier renvoie le concepteur en apprenant le fiasco de l’un de leurs exemplaires avant d’apprendre que celui appelé « Le Petit Baigneur » est un franc succès. Déçu, Castagnier se tourne vers un autre chantier géré par Marcello Cacciaperotti et met en vente « Le Petit Baigneur » qui se vend en masse. Envieux, Fourchaume tente alors de reconquérir Castagnier et sa création.
