I was not entirely sure what to expect from this film. I primarily sought it out because it features the lovely Myrna Loy. When I finally got around to watching it, I was pleasantly reminded that the just as lovely George Brent also had a role in this. It actually won an Academy Award for special effects, which it more than deserves. I was blown away what they accomplished in this film, when you take into account it was released in 1939. It has some decent character progression, a little lacking, but it suffices. The sense of tragedy also emotionally is conveyed very well throughout.

Definitely recommended watching if you like any of the three leads. :)
