Discuss Dracula: Prince of Darkness

The second film in Hammer's Dracula cycle (third if you count the excellent Brides of Dracula in which the Count does not feature) is, sadly, something of a mess, certainly a huge step down from the classic 1958 film. No Peter Cushing is a major debit - promising Christopher Lee's Dracula and then giving us what feels like barely five minutes of him (and not a single line of dialogue to boot) is practically unforgivable. It has some atmosphere, and the final shot is haunting, but the dreary interplay between the two dull and idiotic couples at the centre of the story is hardly unmissable stuff. Skippable. 4/10
