I'm an IMDb message boards refugee preparing for the elimination of the boards feature there on 2/20/2017. I've done some posts on certain IMDb boards suggesting that fellow messagers in search of a new place to form community, and/or to discuss/ask things, go with TMDb, which I've explored, newly registered with, experimented some on, added a few posts, and am satisfied with what all I've encountered and tried so far.
Since in the IMDb posts I've done referring people to here present Metropolis as my example for where to find a movie's/actor's/actress' message boards, I figure I should add an actual post here, so that anyone who may follow the trail I presented will have something to find when they look here.

Welcome from another IMDB refugee. I've been posting all week over there to come here.

I love the 80's version of this film. Great music, interesting colors, my introduction to "silent" films. The original version, with the restored footage, is quite good too, but I have a soft spot in my heart for the rockified version. Pat Benatar, Queen, great stuff.

Greetings, lantzn, cat, and Travis.
Cat, I, too, am a fan of the '80s Giorgio Moroder "rock" version of Metropolis. It gives the movie an invigorated vibe, plus adds a cool factor.
Travis, definitely check out Metropolis at some point, when you get a chance. The "must see" version is the definitive restoration of a few or so years back, that finally reintroduced a lot of previously lost footage and scenes, rendering the overall movie finally essentially again complete, for the first time since the original release came out during the '20s.

Travis, I just realized who you are! HUGE THANK YOU for this wonderful TMDb site you've created in recent years! I read your recent blog post last night and was very interested. I imagine you'll have a deluge of new traffic to the site during the next few days. IMDb's loss, TMDb's/your gain! :) Thanks so much for having the every-title/every-name Discussion boards feature here.

Noted, and good to know! I will try to get to this one. It's always mentioned in the "best of" type lists.
You are welcome! It's positive words like that that get me up in the morning. Cheers!
