Discuss Kong: Skull Island

It sorted started and finished quick and he seemed quite teary. I felt like 30 seconds of dialogue was cut.

The whole movie felt a little rushed but I didn't mind so much since there really weren't any interesting characters or ideas

Even the mysterious Chinese lady? She was so intregal to the Chinese market (I mean movie!) lol

I think there were both. Sorry you missed them.

I was surprised by how disappointed I was. So many great actors but they didn't get any good characters except for the fringe characters actually. I liked the soldiers' characterizations other than Samuel L Jackson's character. Seen that character a million times in more interesting movies. Tom Hiddleston, great actor but yawn character. Larson looked amazing and she's very talented but still didn't have much to work with here that we haven't seen before. I liked the 3 soldiers that didn't get killed and most of the soldiers that did. All the science characters were stock and didn't do anything we haven't seen before either. At least the soundtrack had plenty of Credence tho.

@Mickey Muck OK.

Idea-wise, I think Kong protecting the island inhabitants was an angle not seen in either 1933 or 2005.

Character-wise, I do think Hank Marlow was interesting - especially how they completed the movie resolving his return home, that was a really nice touch.

I agree on the Kong part! They did Kong himself right but I wasn't with any human besides Marlow.

@Mickey Muck Fair enough!

I just watched this movie and felt the same. I think they cut a few lines or flashback scenes.

I wonder why? I want to see it. BFFs are important too :D

Yeah, something was left out that leaves the narrative lacking. I was thinking I had missed something, but no, something was alluded to and then never mentioned. That's not how you tell a story.
