This film (also known as Transatlantic Tunnel), like so many Gaumont productions, was long on talk and short on action. There are some cute models of futuristic cars, auto gyros, etc.; but most of the action takes place in the last 10-15 minutes.
In addition, the premise is ridiculous. No one in their right mind would try to build a transatlantic tunnel from the UK to the U.S.; and it's likely that no sane person would try to travel through it if it could be built. And with the risks of undersea earthquakes, along with nearly unbelievable water pressure down there, no insurance company would insure such an undertaking.
My advice, if you decide to watch it, is to fast-forward through most of it and start watching at about 1 hr. 10 min. You can stream it for free on a Roku (Archive Classic Movies channel); or you can either stream or download for later playback on a TiVo Premiere (Video on Demand: Video Podcasts: TV shows & Extras: ACM) if you also have TiVo Desktop Plus installed and active on your computer. Good luck finding the Archive Classic Movies website, if it even exists.
