Hans Zimmer vs. Carl Orff

Just saw an episode of The Good Wife (S06E05). At the beginning of the episode I thought to hear Hans Zimmer's True Romance theme. Shortly after, the music was described as a piece by Carl Orff. I looked it up and it's true, Carl Orff did indeed compose the same melody Hans Zimmer used in True Romance. Clever homage or cheap plagiarism, what do you think?

Zimmer adapted Orff's work for True Romance... Apparently Orff died a decade before True Romance was made...
