This is a movie that was off the general radar for many years, until it was rediscovered, remastered, and then started occasionally airing on TCM (wonderful Turner Classic Movies) - plus was released on MOD DVD by Sony - in 2015. It's been back in the light of day ever since.
Although this is a minor movie - running just 65 minutes - it's interesting, entertaining, touching, and is strikingly filmed. It's notable for its impressively lit nighttime photography.
The story is nothing earth-shattering, but is a good time-passer. Henrietta Crosman, as the caring, loyal grandmotherly oldish lady, gives a lovely, charming performance, as she gently nurtures and helps reform young Tommy, who has gotten in with jewel thieves. I especially like all the parts of the movie that Crosman is in, and when she interacts with Tommy (portrayed by Richard Cromwell). I also very much like the scenes that Arthur Hohl, as Gordon, and Billie Seward, as Judy, are in. They each give entirely believable performances.
