What happened to Mr. Hammond

It seems his character disappears during the end? I thought for a while he was the killer

It is strange how he and Mrs. Hammond both disappear after we see them once at the prom. It's never explained where they went.

I don't think Alex would murder his father. Then again he could have. He was crazy

He's clearly alive, however for some reason they forgot about his character towards the ending.
I actually thought for a while he was the killer.
