The old Warner Oland Charlie Chan flicks of the '30s are enjoyable not only for the cases being investigated, and for providing opportunity to see performances by so many familiar talented popular actors and actresses of back then, but for perfectly cast ever-charming Oland's engaging star turns, as well as the abundant delightful Chanisms.

An example, from this movie, of the latter [Chan has just swerved while driving]:

TARNEVERRO: Have you been driving long?

CHARLIE CHAN: No. At first I'm pretty bad driver. But, now, me and road turn corner same time.
