A space ship crash lands on the third planet of a distant solar system, killing all hands except for a young boy named Tang. The rescue ship arrives some 20 years later. One of the crew, a girl named Linda meets Tang and falls in love with him. They are attacked by the native humanoids of the planet and many of them are killed off. Also, the crew encounters many strange beasts on this strange, but somewhat familiar world.

Un accident atterrit vaisseau spatial sur la troisième planète d'un système solaire lointain, tuant toutes les mains sauf pour un jeune garçon nommé Tang. Le navire de sauvetage arrive 20 ans plus tard. L'un de l'équipage, une fille nommée Linda rencontre Tang et tombe amoureuse de lui. Ils sont attaqués par les humanoïdes natifs de la planète et beaucoup d'entre eux sont tués. En outre, l'équipage rencontre beaucoup de bêtes étranges sur ce monde étrange, mais un peu familier.

Das Raumschiff Cosmos 3 muß nach einer Meuterei auf einem fremden Planeten notlanden. Erst 18 Jahre später trifft das Schwesternschiff Cosmos 1 zur Rettung ein. Auf der Suche nach Überlebenden muß sich die Crew zahlreichen Gefahren auf der noch jungen und unsicheren Welt stellen.

Al termine di una lunga missione sulla colonia terrestre di Centaurus, il comandante King parte alla ricerca di Cosmos 3, la navicella che, ribellatasi al suo comando, è precipitata su un pianeta sconosciuto. Giunti a destinazione dopo un viaggio di 3 mesi, gli uomini di King non trovano traccia dei ribelli, ma la centauriana Linda, perdutasi in una foresta infestata da animali preistorici, incontra un giovane indigeno, Tang, che, per effetto della relatività spazio-temporale (...la durata del viaggio di King è equivalsa a ben 18 anni trascorsi sull'inospitale pianeta...) si rivelerà figlio di una coppia dell'equipaggio ormai interamente scomparso. Mentre gli astronauti riprendono la via dello spazio, Linda decide di restare a fianco di Tang nella speranza, forse, di dar inizio ad una nuova stirpe.
