Discuss From Dusk Till Dawn

Although it was never explicitly stated I do believe that he was was suffering from a mental illness. If I had to guess I would say schizophrenia. His behavior in the liquor store and the rape/murder of the bank teller in the hotel room come to mind as examples. Also in the r.v. he told Seth that Jacob was a demon. It could also explain why Seth often told himself that Richard would be fine once they got to Mexico. Given the fact that as kids Richard burned down the house killing their abusive alcoholic father that should have been a red flag but I suppose Seth had his own issues to deal with.

I'll buy that. Seth even mentioned that he was a career criminal and professional thief. Pulling heists gave him something complex to concentrate on rather than any underlying issues he had.

Neither of the brothers had any redeeming values for me. I hated them both, and felt bad for the characters portrayed by Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis and Ernest Liu, because they would have all been fine if it wasn't for those two kidnapping and forcing their way into the RV. At the end, her family is dead, and Clooney just leaves her there? Wow...

its very clear, Richie is socially awkward, a paranoid schizophrenic, delusional (hears Jacob's daughter make sexual advances she's not making) and, worst of all, has an impulse control disorder..making him a killer AND sex offender!

So yes, he's quite "ill" and not someone I'd have babysit my kids! wink

You could go either way with that one. On one hand it's a dick move, but if he takes her, he's going to be tempted to lead her into his ways and corrupt her. I suppose he should've called a cab. Let's say that he probably did.

CLOONEY IS ON HIS WAY TO A MEXICAN SHITHOLE POPULATED ENTIRELY WITH MURDERERS,THIEVES AND SCUMBAGS(ALL HAVING PAID ADMISSION)...TAKING THE TEENAGE GIRL WITH HIM WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BIGGEST DICK MOVE EVER.

So to answer your question, Richard had no redeeming qualities due to his abominable issues, whereas Seth at least had some dignity at the very end.

Yea... anger issues! Jacob had to convince Seth that he had gotten away with escaping the law and had won, because Seth was so mad about the doorman grabbing him at the bar!
