Debate Los abismos de las Bermudas

This movie was the reason I signed up for an account at IMDb.

I watched this when was I was young and it stuck with me. I asked so many people if they remembered the movie with the kids carving their initials on a turtle shell and then finding each other again as adults and that the turtle grew into a GIANT. No one ever knew what I was talking about and eventually I convinced myself it was dream.

Fast forward and one day I am on IMDb and this movie pops into my head. I keyword search 'giant turtle' and VOILA, there it is! I had goosebumps that I had found my holy grail of films. I ended up buying the movie and watching again, yes it's a little dated and cheesy but I still love it. The Vivaldi music is the best.

I was also pleasantly surprised I was not alone, there were many others on the board that were haunted by this movie as children too. I had found some kindred spirits. I even joined a facebook group that is dedicated to The Bermuda Depths, every year they have a group viewing on January 27th. The original airdate for this ABC Movie of the Week was 1-27-78. I have missed most years, but it is fun when I do catch it.

Anyways, since this film was responsible for drawing me into the now closed IMDb boards, I must pay my respects by bringing the discussion here, thank you TMDb for giving us a new home. And I hope some of my kindred spirits find their way here also. ocean turtle sparkling_heart

I've never heard of this film until I saw your post pop up on the discussion feed. I'll be sure to check it out, it looks like something I'd enjoy!

This is why we need message boards - for the recommendations, and the ability to connect with people who share similar interests. I still can't believe IMDb shut down the boards. Really hoping the community finds a new home, be it here, or elsewhere...

I hope you like it. The great thing about these old tv movies, is you can always find them on YouTube. And yes, I am hoping that enough of us can keep the community going. This place seems the best fit for me, as I love having the individual boards for movies and tv shows.

I looked on youtube this weekend but could only find trailers for the movie and small scenes, but not the whole movie. I do have an old vhs copy of it, but haven't had a vcr in more than a decade. Maybe I'll pay to have it put onto dvd or bluray.
