Watching this now at home on Netflix DVD. It's really interesting. Several people interviewed in between the recording of Hitch and Truffaut talking plus a narrator filling in bits and pieces. Lots of film clips illustrating what they're talking about. I'm only about half way through it and twice Hitchcock has said "Off the record" and the tape stops so he can tell Truffaut something in confidence. I think the first time they were talking about sex. For sure the second time the tape was stopped Truffaut brings up the guilt themes throughout Hitchcock's films, specifically mentioning his Catholic upbringing influencing his work. If you're a Hitchcock fan I think you'll really like this.

I don't think sex was a topic they stopped the tape for I remember a fragment from the Truffaut interview where Truffaut asks about Hitchcock's preference for the cool Northern blond female lead where Hitchcock replies that he prefers those blondes because he feels that the Mediterranean woman have the air of sex and sexy is too obvious all over them and he doesn't want the sex to be too obvious but he also feels that the Northern European type have sex less below the surface but once they get going .....
