With a nod to rudely_murray over at the Kevin Bacon thread, let's play 6 degrees of TOS! The rules: You name an actor, and the next poster has to link that actor to one of the Big 3 (Shatner, Nimoy, or Kelley) in as few moves as possible. Ideally 6 or less, hence, 6 degrees.
Example:
Player 1 names Bruce Lee.
Player 2 responds:
Player 2 then names another actor to link to one of the Big 3.
Feature films or TV shows only. Try not to select names which would be too easy, like linking Shatner to Patrick Stewart is no challenge!
Okay, here goes...
First try: Marlon Brando.

Are you following the Eurovision Song Contest?

Ciao @sunshine62.
I used to like the Eurovision Song Contest when it started until the beginning of 2000. Then things started to change too much. More non-European countries could be added, the voting system changed, the rule of the Big Five - UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy - was introduced and it guaranteed these countries automatic qualification each time for the final. Almost all songs started sounding the same and are sung in English. So, it's become more and more a contest about who has the most money and public support - the population of a country and its neighbours has become more important than in the past - and less about the quality of the song and its performer(s).
Now, I'm not following it intensively anymore. I did prerecord the semi-finals. Then I watched the songs performed, and when it doesn't hold my attention for the first 30 seconds, I'll skip it and fast forward to the next song.
I noticed that 2012 winner Loreen is back again. Her song "Tattoo" isn't as good as "Euphoria". Winning for the second time is almost impossible with this voting system. Only Johnny Logan won more than once - 1980 and 1992 - but those were different times.
I also listened to the Big Five, and their songs aren't bad at all, except for Germany, whose group "Lord of the Lost" reminded me of Finland's Lordi hard rock group, that won in 2006.

@sunshine62 Ciao.
Well, although I had my doubts, Loreen won, and she is now the second singer to have won the Eurovision Song Festival twice. Congratulations to her! I am satisfied with this result.

I can't say the same, wonder2wonder. I didn't like the melody, nor how she pronounce the word tattoo. She has a great voice but that's all I can say.
I think Marco Mengoni should have won.
Why?
A. He has a beautiful voice
B. He sang in Italian . I think every singer should sing in their native tongue.
C. I think Mengoni 's passion and emotional singing touched even those that didn't speak/understand Italian...his delivery was overwhelming ..his voice is like a giant wave that engulfs you entirely, that's true talent.

He also sings beautifully in English . "Let It Be" and the Kingdom Choir.

Ciao wonder@wonder, no I did not celebrate Pentecoste.
I think the Pope, the Vatican should crumble to the ground.
I don't need a church to find or speak to God. Not being baptised caused me constant backlash from those pious nuns.

Ciao @sunshine62
I (re)watch a variety of series - different genres - as a distraction from real life. Other examples I've seen recently are "Find Me in Paris (2018-2020)", "Medium (2005-2011)" and "Firefly (2002) ".
I've read the "Foundation" series, including the "Robot" stories and novels, by Isaac Asimov. It's a complex universe that Asimov has created. I always have images in my mind when reading, and the television adaptation is too different and simplistic, so I'll be skipping it.

I have heard others that have read Foundation and after checking out the series have declined. I watched the trailer for Firefly ..it's confusing ..in what period does it play. ...
it looks modern but then there were some western shots. Does it have an ending ..I try to avoid series that are canceled.
Is there any talk about season 2 of Strange New Worlds, yet ? I enjoyed your insight and links.

Ciao @sunshine62. I hope your Sunday is quiet and relaxing.
From Wikipedia:
Despite its popularity the series was cancelled after the first season. There was a satisfying ending in the last episode 14. Luckily no cliffhanger. In season two it would have been the continuation of their adventures. It's like in Anson Mount's "Hell on Wheels (2011-2016)", where at the end of season five - episode 14 - Cullen boards a ship for his next adventure in another country.
There is also a followup movie " Serenity (2005)", which resolved some unexplained issues from season one.
"Firefly (2002)" is just a show I rewatch for fun.
Season two has already started two weeks ago, since 15 June, 2023. I'm not really following it too actively. The first two episodes is about the trial of First officer Number One - Una Chin-Riley, because she is a genetically enhanced Illyriana and these augments, like Khan, are banned in the Federation.
In episode one Spock, La'an, M'Benga and Christine fight with Klingon and ex-Starfleet personnel to prevent a new Klingon War.
In episode two the trial starts and ends. Una is aquitted and returns to the USS Enterprise. But the story continues with La'an - descendant of Khan - trying to find out more about herself and who might threaten her.
There is also the threat of the Gorn, who lay eggs in humans.
If you're interested I can post some videoclips with a short text - like above - of each episode. Nothing as extensive as season one, because the last time I had to rewatch episodes of (S)TOS), to remember how everything was originally. One's memory gets muddled with so much retconning.

Ciao wonder2wonder
I just finished watching the first two episodes of FireFly.
Glad to hear it has a decent ending .. I already have two favourites : Jane and Simon.
The crew members are an odd bunch, it seems they all have something to hide. I don't care for the gun shooting but I like how they interact.
I hope Jane doesn’t turn on the captain at sometime..they often don't see matters in the same way.
The sister is a mystery .. I wonder what's so special about her.
Thanks for the summary of the first two episodes of Strange New Worlds. I appreciate the offer but no worries. I'll manage.
I'm happy you suggested FireFly. Thanks!
