Discuss Star Trek

David McCullum, world famous for playing Agent Irlya Kurakin in The Man From U.N.C.L.E and Dr. "Ducky" Mallard on NCIS, died yesterday at the age of 90 in New York. He also appeared in the movie The Great Escape and the Classic The Outer Limits episode The Man With The Sixth Finger. Eternal Rest grant to David McCullum O Lord, may the Perpetual Light shine upon him, may he Rest In Peace, Amen.

R.I.P.

Ciao wonder2wonder,

I loved watching him in The Man from UNCLE. May he Rest in Peace.🌹

@sunshine62: I used to love how stoic he was compared to Robert Vaughn's ladies man and his dry sense of humor.

The only thing I liked about Robert Vaughn's character was his name. Napoleon is one of my all-time favourite historical figures. Being a womaniser left me indifferent. Also, I didn't find Vaughn appealing.

I loved Illya..I had a crush on him. He was mysterious ...I need to watch the series again. I hope Dailymotion or youtube has some episodes. I saw the series in the '80s so it has been a while.

"The Foreign Legion Affair" is a funny one with Illya.

Ciao wonder2wonder! relaxed

I googled " The Foreign Legion Affair " season 2 episode 22 ( which is also my lucky number).

I punched in the info and it was there. tada I just finished watching it. Illya was cute in his underwear , she bit him twice laughing

Not sure if Dailymotion has all the episodes ..by chance do you know any other episode with Illya in the main plot? If not, no problems.

I found it notable that the episode The Finny Foot Affair bore some striking similarities to the opening of the movie "The Andromeda Strain." (The excellent first version.)

And there was some Star Trek guest-casting crossover with UNCLE too.

Thanks knix ! slight_smile

I looked up the season and episode S1 Ep10 and went to check if Dailymotion had it.

Illya's part was very short, but I still enjoyed the episode with the boy. He was cute and played his part well.

Best phrase:wrong century Jack rofl

The twist at the end with the good-looking mother was of course expected. Does the boy and Napoleon ever team up again in the series?

@sunshine62 Ciao. relaxed

I will be posting on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Board, so you can go there to discuss the episodes.

It's McCallum.

And let's not forget:

Yes, that's George Lazenby as "JB." Apparently The Powers That Be wouldn't let them use the full name, or the 007.

I will check out the Man From U.N.C.L.E board. Just finished watching the film, thanks knix for providing the link. Did they do any more films?

I liked Anthony Zerbe ...he is one of those actors who popped up often in series and films as a supporting actor.

My favourite line was said by Illya :

Pity 350 million in jewels would be nice to hold in your hand just for a moment. joy

Nothing after that movie, from what I can find.

Vaughn's/Solo's face when his "pacemaker" went off sure was something...

No other movies after 1983. There were eight feature films made from two-parters or by adding extra footage to an episode. I posted it on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Board.
